Social Studies State News Blog

Three robbers pretended to be flower delivery men, made their way into a house in Manalapan, and threatened the residence with a gun on Sunday, Febuary 22, 2009. One of the robbers threatened the residence with a handgun while another looked around the house. However, the activation of the home's security alarm caused the burglars to run away. The police aren't sure if the intruders stole any items from the house and the police didn't track down any suspects yet. I got this info from:

Science Current Events- Animals Become Victims of Australian bushfires =(

Many native animals in Australia are victims as they encountered bushfires and most of them are in bad shape. There are literally thousands of animals that have been orphaned, injured, or even killed however, some where lucky. Sam the koala was found by a firefighter and was rescued, she was one of the lucky ones that survived. In my opinion, i believe that they did a really good deed however, i feel terrible that most of the animals did not survive the intensity of the fires. I also hope that bushfires would someday be prevented so more animals could be safe. My Science Rollercoaster Project Class Response Blog

In my science class, we are doing a project where we choose groups and make a roller coaster or skate park. My group and I decided to do a roller coaster and we called it The Elephant! because we made it have visual characteristics of an elephant. Three Interesting facts about our project are:
* We were supposed to include at least three hills and at least one real characteristic of a roller coaster such as a loop or a bend. * The purpose of this project was to display gravitational potential energy and rolling friction. * These roller coasters were only made out of household items such as paper towel rolls and cardboard. In my opinion, I think everyones roller coasters and skate parks look great especially our roller coaster THE ELEPHANT! - By Vikinggirl15!

In San Miguel Del Monte, Argentina farmers encounter droughts that killed many cattle and crops. The farmers are struggling and are in deep trouble, they are losing money and really need rain fast. This is the worst drought in half a century and is ruining all their soil."I'm losing money. I can't afford to lose money all the time," said Juan Cahen D'Anvers, whose family has been farming in Argentina since the late 1700s. In my opinion, I believe that this is really depressing and we really need to help so farmers don't loose all their money. This information was found at:
